Intelligent automation is the key to Nuvis’ outstanding efficiency and self-sufficient operation. Your Nuvis system continuously monitors its ability to absorb heat from the sun and cycles itself on or off accordingly. When there is heat to be gained, the circulating pump is activated and cold water is drawn up from the bottom of your special solar storage tank. The water is then heated through your solar collector(s), and returned to the tank as hot water, ready for use. This cycle continues as long as the sun is available to provide heat to your water. When there is no heat from the sun available, the pump shuts itself off and the collector(s) are automatically isolated to prevent any loss of heat from the tank. If your family ever needs more hot water than the sun can provide, Nuvis’ back-up heating element automatically takes over, insuring that you will always have all the hot water you need.
Why Should you Install a Solar Water Heater?
So what exactly does that mean to you?
- The biggest waster of electricity in your home is your water heater. About 30% of the average household’s utility bill is spent just on heating water.
- A medium-sized car averaging 22 mpg and an 80 gallon electric water heater BOTH use 11.1 barrels of oil per year.
- Solar Water Heating is an easy choice for home owners to make in efforts to live sustainably.
- Nuvis solar water heaters offer the lowest investment, while providing the fastest return and dividends for as long as you own your system.
